Stephen P. Cowley, MD
Orthopedic Surgeon

Dr. Stephen P. Cowley specializes in general orthopedics with a particular interest in arthroscopy of the knee and shoulder and total joint replacements of the hip, knee and shoulder.  He is certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgeons and has been a member of the Grandview Medical Center medical staff for more than 32 years.

In 1982, Dr. Cowley began his orthopedic practice in Birmingham after completing his surgical internship and orthopedic residency at the University of South Alabama Medical Center.

J. Stanford Faulkner, Jr., MD

Dr. J. Stanford Faulkner, Jr., a second generation orthopaedic surgeon, began his professional career in 1986 at the practice founded by his father, James Stanford Faulkner, Sr., M.D.   Following his father’s recommendation to specialize in spine surgery, Dr. Faulkner has been treating patients with spine problems for over 29 years.

Dr. Faulkner received his Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry from Auburn University and continued his education at the University of South Alabama College of Medicine. 


Rebecca A. Moul, DO

Board-Certified Orthopaedic Surgeon

Dr. Rebecca Moul is the newest member of Birmingham Orthopedics & Spine Center. Dr. Moul is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in arthroscopy and sports medicine, and she has special interests in general orthopaedics and fracture care. Dr. Moul takes a logical, common-sense approach to treatment that emphasizes understanding individual goals for recovery. She combines that knowledge with her expertise and the latest operative and non-operative methods to provide a comprehensive and customized treatment plan. As a former NCAA Division I tennis player, Dr. Moul derives a great sense of personal satisfaction from helping patients improve their lives and rebound from a variety of musculoskeletal issues.

William D. Sudduth, MD
Orthopedic & Sports Medicine Specialist

William Douglas Sudduth, M.D. received his undergraduate degree from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, Alabama in 1964. After graduation, he attended medical school at the University of Alabama School of Medicine in Birmingham and earned his medical degree in 1968. At that time, Dr. Sudduth completed a surgical internship at Carraway Methodist Medical Center. From 1969 to 1971 he was a flight surgeon with the United States Naval Reserve Medical Corps, 6th Mediterranean Fleet. He then went on to complete his orthopaedic surgery fellowship and residency at the University of Alabama in 1974.
